Cracked, crumbling, missing and sunken grout lines repaired and blended so water stays out and tile stays put.
Grout is the first line of defense for what is under your tile. When lines crack, crumble or disappear, water reaches the setting bed and the substrate, tiles loosen and mold takes hold in places no one can see. A few small cracks are easy to fix. Left alone for a season or two, they can turn into loose tiles, soft floors and a shower that leaks into a wall.
We look at why the grout failed before we fix it. Cracks at a change of plane may be movement joints that need flexible caulk rather than grout. Powdery grout may have been mixed with too much water. Sunken lines may be old and worn. We remove the failed material, clean the joint, apply new grout to the correct depth and tool it flush. Then we blend the color with the surrounding lines as closely as possible and seal it. If repair will not hold, we say so and talk about regrouting.
Movement, poor mixing, age and moisture all break grout down differently, and the repair depends on the reason.
Loose and crumbling material is cut out cleanly so new grout can bond to a sound edge.
New grout is tinted to match, and we tell you honestly how close it will look next to old lines.
Repairs are sealed after curing so they resist moisture and stains like the rest of the floor.

You tell us about your tile and what bothers you, stained grout, a moldy shower or a dull floor, and we set a visit that fits your day.
We look closely at tile, grout and caulk, tap-test floors, probe suspicious spots, test cleaners in a hidden area and take photos of anything of note.
We explain your options for cleaning, recoloring, sealing or regrouting, bring grout color samples and give you a written scope with clear timing and pricing.
We protect floors, cabinets and fixtures, set up dust control and remove old grout or caulk where the plan calls for it.
We deep clean, repair, regrout, recolor or seal with the right products for each surface and clean the tile as we work.
We clean up, walk the room with you and leave simple care and cure instructions and a reminder for your next check.
Common causes are house movement, grout that was mixed or cured poorly, flexing floors and age. Corners and edges should use flexible caulk.
We tint it to match, but old grout has aged and dirt changes color. Recoloring the whole area gives a uniform result.
Yes. Showers need extra care with waterproofing, cure time and sealing.
Small repairs take a few hours. Larger areas take a day or more including cure time.
When cracks are widespread, the grout is soft, or tiles are loose in many places, regrouting is the longer-lasting choice.
