Sealers matched to your tile type that protect porous tile and stone from stains, moisture and daily wear.
Not all tile needs a sealer. Glazed porcelain and ceramic are essentially waterproof on the face. But unglazed quarry tile, terracotta, cement tile, travertine, limestone, slate and many stone surfaces are porous, and without protection they absorb oil, water and spills. Sealer slows that absorption and gives you time to wipe up a spill before it becomes a stain. It also helps stone resist mineral buildup and keeps unglazed tile from darkening.
We start by identifying the tile and testing how porous it is. Then we select a sealer that suits it, whether a penetrating sealer that leaves the look unchanged, an enhancer that deepens color or a topical finish for certain floors. We clean the surface thoroughly, let it dry, apply the sealer in even coats and remove excess before it cures. We tell you how long to stay off, how to maintain the seal and when to reapply, so protection does not quietly wear away.
Glazed tile usually does not need sealing, but porous tile and stone do. We test to be sure.
Penetrating, enhancing and topical sealers do different jobs, and we match them to the tile and the room.
Tile is cleaned and fully dried so sealer bonds and cures properly.
